Marra van der Kubbe

I’m Mara van der Kubbe. I’m Dutch-Romanian and an Expansion Lead at Volt Europa. I joined Volt about six years ago because I really connected with what Volt stands for. I first read about Volt after the 2019 elections, and I immediately felt that its ideas spoke to me.

What especially resonated with me was the way Volt approaches people in Europe—how we treat Europeans, how we treat those living here, and also those who want to come to Europe. For me, Volt is about empowering people: not only the young or the old, but everyone. Female, male, or however you identify—we are here for you.

That’s why I joined Volt. I’ve seen that in some countries and regions, these values are not always respected. That drives me to use all my energy across Eastern, Northern, Central, and Southern Europe to help change Europe for the greater good.

I hope this message empowers you to join Volt as well—or at least to join a call with us, talk to your friends about Volt, and help shape Europe into the place you deserve.
