Communications Volunteer – Help Volt Norge Find Its Voice

Norway adopts around 75% of all EU legislation without a vote in its creation. Meanwhile, support for EU membership is growing, the Norwegian government collapsed in 2025 over EU energy rules, and Europe's security landscape is shifting fast. These are exactly the stories Volt Norge exists to tell — and we need people who can tell them.

We are looking for communications volunteers to help bring Volt Norge's message to Norwegian audiences, whether through social media, written commentary, or direct engagement with the press. This is an early-stage organisation, which means there's no communications playbook yet — you'd help write it. Multiple openings are available, and you choose the area where you want to contribute.

About Volt Norge & Volt Europa

Volt Norge is the Norwegian chapter of Volt Europa — Europe's first truly pan-European political party, founded in 2017 as a direct response to Brexit and rising nationalism. Volt operates under one name, one vision, and one policy framework across more than 30 countries. With over 42,000 members and representation in national and European parliaments across three countries, Volt is one of the fastest-growing political movements in Europe. What You'll Be Doing

Pick one or more focus areas based on your skills and interests:

  • Social Media – Manage and grow Volt Norge's presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook through regular, engaging posts that bring our European politics home to a Norwegian audience

  • Opinion & Editorial Writing – Draft political opinion pieces and commentary for our website on topics like Norway's EU relationship, energy policy, security, and democracy

  • Media Outreach – Identify relevant news moments and proactively reach out to Norwegian newspapers and media outlets with quotes, comments, and press material to put Volt Norge on the map

  • Content Strategy – Help shape what we say, when we say it, and to whom — especially valuable if you have a background in marketing or communications

What We're Looking For

  • Strong written communication skills in Norwegian and English (Volt Europas working language)

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through

  • Interest in European politics, Norwegian public debate, or civic engagement

  • At least 2–4 hours availability per week

  • No prior experience required — students and recent graduates with an interest in politics, journalism, or marketing are especially welcome

What You'll Gain

Because Volt Norge is still building its communications function, your impact will be direct and visible:

  • Political Communications – Real-world experience shaping how a political party communicates on live, consequential issues

  • Social Media Growth – Hands-on practice building an audience organically from early-stage — a skill that's genuinely hard to get elsewhere

  • Media Relations – Experience reaching out to and engaging with Norwegian press, something most communications courses can only simulate

  • Content & Copywriting – Writing political content that has to be accurate, sharp, and persuasive for a public audience

  • Strategic Thinking – Helping define what a new political voice sounds like in Norway's media landscape

This is a fully remote, async-friendly volunteer role. Every post, article, or press contact you make directly shapes how Norway encounters Volt.
